Lesson 5: O Come, Little Children

English Focus:

O Come, Little Children should be warm, gentle, and expressive. Use full bow for the slow lyrical line, upper-half bow when notes move faster, quarter bow for small fast practice, and lower half to build tone strength. Left-hand fingers must stay natural and active: strong fingertip contact, relaxed thumb, accurate pitch, and no unnecessary stiffness.

  1. 先听乐句，想象自己在歌唱。
    Listen to the phrase and imagine singing it.
  2. 用漂亮音色慢速练长弓。
    Practice long bows slowly with a beautiful sound.
  3. 只有速度变快时才减少用弓长度。
    Use smaller bow only when the tempo becomes faster.
  4. 检查左手手指高度、力量和音准。
    Check left-hand finger height, strength, and pitch.
  5. 最后用柔和情感和清楚的乐句方向完整演奏。
    Play the final version with gentle feeling and clear phrase direction.

作业 Homework

每天15分钟：全弓音色、慢速旋律、左手音准，最后柔和有表情地完整演奏。

Daily 15 minutes: full-bow tone, slow melody, left-hand intonation, then one gentle expressive performance.

共同技术要求 Core Technique

第1至5课共同技术重点：
- 用弓：短节奏用上半弓；快速小音符用四分之一弓；下半弓练力量与控制；慢速歌唱性乐句用全弓。
- 左手：手指保持自然，不塌指，不硬直。指尖下指要有力量，大拇指放松，认真听音准。
- 情感：不要只拉对音，要像唱歌一样处理乐句，按照视频示范加入音乐表情。

Core technique for Lessons 1–5:
- Bow use: upper half for clean short rhythms; quarter bow for fast small notes; lower half for strength and control; full bow for slow, singing phrases.
- Left hand: natural finger shape, not collapsed and not over-straight. Drop the fingertip with energy, keep the thumb relaxed, and listen for accurate intonation.
- Expression: do not only play correct notes. Sing the phrase, shape the line, and add feeling from the video demonstration.
